We arrive in Malaysia after a break that was a real panacea for me, a break that allowed me to recover a little more physically. I am still not 100 percent but when I am on the bike and grit my teeth I can ride. In FP the pace is good, I’m happy even though in the dry lap I lack something. However I get direct access to Q2 where I manage to put myself in the second row
In the sprint, however, I really struggle. I start off not great and struggle right away. In the first two sectors I ride well, but in T3 and T4 I lose grip and stress the rear tire too much
For Sunday’s race we change a little bit, I guess a good start and manage to keep the pace of the first few laps.
I tried to stay with Pecco and Jorge (Bagnaia and Martin ed.), but I didn’t have their pace. I lost them, then I tried to push, but Fabio (Quartararo ed.) closed really strong. Overall very good, although I hoped for better. Full throttle to Qatar now.
