{"id":3377,"date":"2025-10-28T11:22:39","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T10:22:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/simplythebez.com\/?p=3377"},"modified":"2025-10-28T11:24:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T10:24:09","slug":"a-tough-weekend-in-sepang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplythebez.com\/en\/a-tough-weekend-in-sepang\/","title":{"rendered":"A Tough Weekend in Sepang"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"96\" data-end=\"389\">It was a tough weekend in <strong data-start=\"122\" data-end=\"132\">Sepang<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"133\" data-end=\"136\" \/>Right from <strong data-start=\"147\" data-end=\"164\">Free Practice<\/strong>, I was struggling a lot \u2014 I just couldn\u2019t find the right grip.<br data-start=\"227\" data-end=\"230\" \/>Missing out on <strong data-start=\"245\" data-end=\"251\">Q2<\/strong> made everything even harder.<br data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"283\" \/>In qualifying, I couldn\u2019t do better than <strong data-start=\"324\" data-end=\"331\">P14<\/strong>, and I knew both races were going to be an uphill battle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"533\">In the <strong data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"408\">Sprint<\/strong>, I managed to recover well, and finished <strong data-start=\"450\" data-end=\"456\">P6<\/strong>, which \u2014 considering how things had been going \u2014 was honestly a good result.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"903\">For Sunday\u2019s race, we decided to start with the <strong data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"604\">medium front tyre<\/strong>, thinking that with the heat and the race distance, it could help solve some of the issues that were slowing us down.<br data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"725\" \/>But instead, I struggled even more.<br data-start=\"760\" data-end=\"763\" \/>I couldn\u2019t overtake or ride the way I wanted.<br data-start=\"808\" data-end=\"811\" \/>It was <strong data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"838\">a difficult race<\/strong>, where I gave everything \u2014 but just couldn\u2019t perform as I hoped.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"975\">But honestly, on Sunday, <strong data-start=\"930\" data-end=\"974\">the race wasn\u2019t the most important thing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"1199\">When you see two riders <strong data-start=\"1001\" data-end=\"1031\">airlifted out of the track<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1067\">you don\u2019t know how they are<\/strong>, it\u2019s really hard to focus and put your helmet back on.<br data-start=\"1123\" data-end=\"1126\" \/>This is our job \u2014 sometimes it\u2019s pure joy, other times it\u2019s really tough.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1376\">So, once the race was over, I could only think about what <strong data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1287\">really matters right now<\/strong>:<br data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1291\" \/>that <strong data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1312\">Jos\u00e9 (Rueda)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1337\">Noah (Dettwiler)<\/strong> can come back to us <strong data-start=\"1358\" data-end=\"1375\">soon and safe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was a tough weekend in Sepang.Right from Free Practice, I was struggling a lot \u2014 I just couldn\u2019t find the right grip.Missing out on Q2 made everything even harder.In qualifying, I couldn\u2019t do better than P14, and I knew both races were going to be an uphill battle.
