{"id":3312,"date":"2025-07-15T13:37:04","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T11:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/simplythebez.com\/sachsenring-peccato-per-la-scivolata-ma-siam-li\/"},"modified":"2025-07-15T13:40:13","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T11:40:13","slug":"sachsenring-peccato-per-la-scivolata-ma-siam-li","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/simplythebez.com\/en\/sachsenring-peccato-per-la-scivolata-ma-siam-li\/","title":{"rendered":"Sachsenring: a crash that hurt \u2014 but a weekend that mattered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"355\">At the end of the race, I said I was 60% disappointed about the crash and 40% happy with how the weekend had gone.<br data-start=\"211\" data-end=\"214\" \/>I knew that after a few hours \u2014 once I\u2019d gotten over the frustration of the fall and could think clearly \u2014 <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"354\">I\u2019d flip those numbers around<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"357\" data-end=\"390\">And that\u2019s exactly what happened.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"392\" data-end=\"1063\">The crash during the race, while I was in second place, was just a small mistake with big consequences.<br data-start=\"495\" data-end=\"498\" \/>I wasn\u2019t on the limit, I wasn\u2019t pushing too hard.<br data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"550\" \/>It was a <strong data-start=\"559\" data-end=\"586\">different kind of crash<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"590\" \/>Of course, there was an error \u2014 otherwise you don\u2019t go down \u2014 but it was subtle: <strong data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"700\">I braked a bit too gently<\/strong>, didn\u2019t put the bike into a rear slide.<br data-start=\"740\" data-end=\"743\" \/>That corner has a slight downhill section in the middle, and if you don\u2019t enter it with the rear slightly unloaded, it tends to push on the front.<br data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"892\" \/>That\u2019s exactly what happened.<br data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"924\" data-is-only-node=\"\" \/>It\u2019s a shame \u2014 I was fast, and honestly, <strong data-start=\"965\" data-end=\"1007\">I didn\u2019t expect to be that competitive<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1008\" data-end=\"1011\" \/>Everything was coming together, so yeah&#8230; it hurts.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1065\" data-end=\"1381\">The rest of the weekend, though, went well \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1125\">really well<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1129\" \/>We were fast in all conditions \u2014 dry and wet \u2014 and for the first time this season <strong data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1250\">we made the front row in qualifying<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1254\" \/>In the Sprint I fought right until the last lap.<br data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1305\" \/>Sure, maybe I would\u2019ve had more fun if the race had been one lap shorter! \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1731\">It was a tough race, a good one\u2026<br data-start=\"1415\" data-end=\"1418\" \/>Maybe I pushed a bit too hard in the middle part, and by the end I was really struggling with the rear tyre.<br data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1529\" \/>I started to drop off, and unfortunately Marc got by.<br data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1585\" \/>When they showed me the gap to him, I told myself: <strong data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1673\">\u201cPush hard, because he\u2019s coming.\u201d<\/strong><br data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"1676\" \/>I set my fastest lap\u2026 but honestly, that was all I had.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1845\"><strong data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1782\">Now it\u2019s straight back on track next weekend.<\/strong><br data-start=\"1782\" data-end=\"1785\" \/>The motivation\u2019s there, the energy is there.
